Contest Details

I designed my logo based on the detail and a very specific audience and goals:

Design Goals
We want people to inquire about us (online) and to participate in our activities.
Target Audience
Our target audience is between ages 16 – 25 residing in Hawai‘i. We especially wish to attract people of native Hawaiian ancestry.
What makes us unique (USP)
We are a partnership between schools, non-profit organizations and businesses that values education as a tool to proactively solve complex problems. We emphasize hands-on experience.
Message to communicate
We’re launching a new program. If you’re concerned about the health of our environment and also want to find a good fulfilling career, join us.
Feelings to communicate
Connection to place (Hawai’i), future-oriented, optimism, urgency, inspiration, fun
Customer Motivation
Jobs. Environment. Hawaiian Culture.

When researching Hawaii, I found that the marine animal of Hawaii is the sperm whale. However, in seeking photographs of this mammal, I found that most shots were of the tail of the whale. I believe that since Hawaii is a haven for sperm whales, that this sight may be common to Hawaiians.

I felt that a chalkboard type drawing may be appropriate because of the emphasis on education.

Even though I started with the tail, I felt that a cartoon face would give it some personality and perhaps allow the logo to take on a personality as a character in advertising or comics. It has a serious expression because of concern about the environment.

He is wearing a green collar to show that the tail is now a head and because of the friendliness of the institute towards preserving the environment he is wearing green leis. Have fun with it!

The logo could be modified to wear other items or to have other expressions. Or it could be simplified to include the title or not.

Hope that you like my logo. If you do, please vote for me!

Stimulate Your Economy

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Would you like to give your target audience a wake-up call? Now you can! Empower Creative Services LLC is offering an innovative way to utilize indoor advertising in local diners, restaurants, coffee shops and ice cream shops. Obviously, the economic health of an area affects every business in the area, including the small diner or restaurant. Wake-up Call is a way for a small business to have a large impact in promoting and stimulating their neighboring businesses. What’s even better is that this won’t cost the restaurant anything! In fact, we want to give the restaurant free mugs or travel mugs for indoor advertising in their establishment.

Our goal is to give six to eight surrounding businesses the opportunity to advertise on the mugs or travel mugs at a restaurant in their area. The cost is about $295 in Central Florida for an ad that will be seen for a period of one year on a mug which is used daily in the restaurant.* Advertisers can put their ad in their local prospect’s hand day after day!

Wake-up CallWake-up Call is also an excellent fundraiser for schools, clubs, and non-profits because we provide the mugs or travel mugs free of charge for organizations to sell or use for promotional materials. Mugs usually sell for $10 each raising over $1400 per gross.

NOW OFFERING PLASTIC TUMBLERS! If you are interested in purchasing a Fitzsi Tumbler Dealership, please contact Fitzsimmons Group at 904.514.1456. Please, tell Bobby that Chris sent you!

Empower Creative Services LLC is a graphic and web design studio located in Apopka, Florida. We are a mobile business and will come to your location to serve you. Contact Chris at 407.886.0932 or 407.920.6987 or by email. For more information on Empower Creative Services LLC and Wake-up Call, please visit our website.

We’re all in this together! As Reuben Welch wrote, “We Really Do Need Each Other.”  If we work together we can change our economic forecast! After all, coffee is the original economic stimulant!

*Cost varies based on ad size. If you are not in Central Florida, we will have a local representative contact you to discuss the program.
